The Igbere Development Association. Inc. (IDA) has awarded a contract of two million, seven hundred and twenty thousand naira (N2,720,000.00) to the “Upright Furniture Company”, for the manufacture and supply of school desks and ultra modern black boards in all 12 classrooms of the Main Building of Igbere Secondary School, Igbere (ISSI).
According to the IDA Project Committee Chairman, Mr. Emeka Ejieke, the first phase of the contract is expected to be completed by September 2018 and the rest of the contract will be delivered by end of this year.
This latest venture in ISSI is being undertaken by IDA following an appeal by the Principal of ISSI Mr. Ekwuribe Ugochukwu, to IDA stating that students don’t have standardized seats in the classroom suitable for learning.
It’s expected that some of the desks will be delivered to ISS by end of this month due to the urgent nature of the appeal by the principal.
It would be recalled that in April 2018 some IDA members including Chief Esse Esse (President), Chief Daniel Eke (Chief Financial Officer), and Rev. Dickson I. Samuel (Project Committee member); visited Igbere Secondary School to inspect, model the prototype, and determine the quantity of desks that may be supplied eventually.
